Euronext is a pan-European stock exchange, created from the merger of the stock exchanges from Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. After it acquired the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) and the Portugese stock exchange, Bolsa de Valores de Lisboa e Porto (BVLP), it has become one of the largest exchanges of the world.
In 2007 Euronext merged with the NYSE Group to form the NYSE Euronext exchange. After the take over by ICE in 2013, the European stock market exchanges went further under the old name Euronext.
Today it has branches in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Portugal and the UK. It operates from Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Lisbon and Paris.
